I am still in Christmas gift making mode and have made 2 aprons for my nieces Laura and Tess. Sofie helped me tonight with the sewing and pressing and Ellen did a little pose with Eames to show the end result. We used two pink and two green co ordinating cupcake cotton fabrics from Spotlight. No pattern was used. We made it up as we went. We made the ties long enough to come around to the front to tie. Some rick rack or trim would have been nice but none could be found!
Here is a closer view of the pink one:

I LOVE aprons. They make the best gifts. These are so adorable!
Cute! I wanted to make matching aprons for my sister and her youngest daughter but I just couldn't pull it off this holiday season. Maybe next year...
Ah the fabric is too cute. I love aprons too :) Isn't it nice to have helpers?
Adorable! Perfect fabric and a great design! :)
very cute, I love the fabric! Good luck with the gift making marathon!
Super Cute! I love the way the ties wrap to the front.
Ellen looks like she's ready to serve the line at Sprinkles, the top cupcake place in Los Angeles. She looks adorable and so do your aprons, what wonderful gifts.
I used that same fabric to make an apron for my niece for Christmas...great minds think alike!
How true! Let's start our Holiday sewing when the stores start decorating for the Holidays!
Hey, starting the week before Christmas is a terrific plan, that way you know you cannot make complicated things! The aprons are very cute. In fact, I have suddenly decided that my mum and SIL need an apron slipped into their present. Thanks! ( I think ?)
Cute aprons! Those fabrics are perfect. I feel a trip to SL coming on...
what a great gift, I love those cupcakes on there, perfect
That fabric is tooooooo cute!
I have a note to myself for next year, too :)
Nice aprons. I saw that same fabric in SL and almost bought it for aprons too but I was good and kept walking. :)
I saw your post on oven mitts at the same time as I was making one for the first time using the same quilting pattern as you and the green gingham cupcake fabric from Spotlight. The mitt was to match an apron made out of the green cupcake fabric. I hope this link works: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23264112@N03/3128001074/
