Merry Christmas

I have finished the oven mitts - Hooray!! And just in time. It is 11.00 pm here and I need them for work tomorrow.

It promises to be nice and warm here in Melbourne for Christmas. We are going to my brother's place where the kids can swim and the adults can find a shady place to have a drink (or two...).

We had our first Christmas gathering up in Shepparton on the weekend where we all got to have lunch in the backyard. Some chickens and salads from the chook shop with chocolate ripple cake made by Sofie for desert. Perfect, except for all the mossie bites I have!

Here is a typical Aussie backyard lunch photo - even with the Hills hoist in the background..lol

And here is mum, me, Cheryl, Tess (my niece) and Sofie.

Have a very merry Christmas everyone!

You all look so adorable in your crowns! Best wishes for the holiday season.

P.S. I know you're on the other side of the world, but I still can't wrap my brain around a summery Xmas - there is a ton of snow here and the temp is -16 Celsius!

Well, it's 18ºF today in Southeastern PA, USA! Crowns and short sleeves seems like a perfect way to celebrate Christmas to me! Thank your posting for the photos. It reminds me we live in a big, diverse world.
Have a wonderful Christmas!

I read your post and thought "I really want to go to Australia!" My friends who have been there just rave about it. Maybe some day... But yes, it's bitterly cold here today in New York, so I am very jealous of your warm weather.

..I could also use some of this weather here. We just had a storm with lots of wind and over 35cm of snow! It is very very cold here and I am also jealous of your summer weather :) Lunch looks like allot of fun.
Have a Very Merry Christmas.

Ohhhh, I SO wish I was there! You look like you're having a fabulous time. That's the kind of Christmas I like, sunshine, swimming... and a couple of drinks ;)
Merry Christmas, Vicky!

Merry Christmas! Congratulations on finishing your oven mitts in time! Were they a big hit? And may I ask about the crowns?

LOL! Christmas isn't Christmas without heat, flys, lazing by the pool while the kids swim and silly paper hats. Sounds perfect to me. :) I hope you left some chocolate ripple cake for me. Yum! Merry Christmas!

Glad you got the mitts done in time, hope they were appreciated and enjoyed!

Merry Christmas Vicki! I love your pics. We are having a white Christmas here in eastern Canada! It doesn't happen all that often so I'm happy.

Merry Christmas! Even after a thaw and some rain here in Boston, there is over a foot of snow on the ground. One day I must spend Christmas in Australia!

I'm still trying to get used to (after 25 years) a warm weather Christmas here in the desert. What's the significance of the crowns? Cute aprons.

Oh.... chocolate ripple cake!! I was thinking of that the other day - haven't had one for years, but I'm a bit sentimental about them.

I didn't realise you were from Shepp. Gosh, we Goulburn Valley gals are a creative lot, aren't we?
